In June 2021, The SMF gave out the first Susan Morrissey Ledyard prize for Achievement in English to Nicholas Manus, a student at Academy Park High School. Nicholas is off to college with a $2500 scholarship and aspires to be a writer. We are proud of you Nick!
Each year, The Susan Morrissey Foundation awards a cash scholarship to a student at Academy Park High School who excels in the subject of English and who demonstrates a love for reading and writing.
Susan was an English teacher in California and Pennsylvania for over 20 years and loved sharing her passion for the written word. She was a stand out educator who was much loved by students and colleagues.
We aim to reach out to the Academy Park community and beyond, as we share the work of the foundation and its mission to recognize and support students who aspire to continue their education after high school.
